EDUCATION
Both Stephen and Caitlin, our principal instructors, have Queensland College of Teaching registrations with Primary School Education backgrounds and qualifications.
Both instructors are qualified as certified teachers with the Irish Dancing Commission, CLRG, in Dublin Ireland. Stephen is a TCRG (Teacher) and Caitlin is both a TCRG and ADCRG (Adjudicator).
Both Instructors are fully certified in First Aid and CPR.
Stephen is the only male instructor, the only Irish-born instructor, and the only World-Champion dancer in the Gold Coast area.
The Carolan school offers not only Irish Dancing lessons, but also Irish Language and Music tuition. We value Irish Culture and pass this passion on to our students.

Every dancer has a unique goal and spirit. We help them to set goals that are attainable and give them tools to do so.
Both Stephen and Caitlin were accomplished competitors. Stephen won every major competition including the World Championships. Caitlin is Queensland-born and won all major titles regionally and nationally.
With a strong history in competitive excellence, and with the sensitivity of parents of a young family, Stephen and Caitlin are committed to seeing their students reach their highest potential with an empathetic approach.
OPPORTUNITIES AND GROWTH
Performance opportunities are available for all dancers.
Competition opportunities and grade exams are available for all dancers who want to set goals and mark their progress.
Dancers are nurtured, with their individual goals and strengths catered to by teaching staff.
Carolan Academy offers a positive and encouraging learning environement supervised by professional educators.
Dancers are encouraged to advance at their own pace and to view competition as a chance to explore personal growth and progress.
THE HOME OF CHAMPIONS
Since we opened our doors in 2019, the Carolan Academy has clocked up 25 QLD State Champion Solo Titles with 9 dancers being current 2023 QLD State Champions.
Our superstar sister duo, Ruby Stanton and Kerry Stanton both became Australian International Oireachtas Champions in 2023 against competition from all over Australia & New Zealand.
In September 2023, Ruby Stanton became the 11 Years Australian National Irish Dance Champion! She is the first Australian National Champion of the Carolan Academy!!!
The Flora Lynagh Gold Medal (awarded to Queensland’s most consistent winning dancer at Queensland feiseanna) was won by Ruby Stanton in 2022 and Audrey Fox in 2023.
